How to get the most for the price you pay?

Money is earned hard way, it is very important to value money. I believe in this statement and make it a point to make the most value out of every cent I spend. People say I spend a lot of time thinking before buying any product, its true! I do so because I don’t want to miss out on some ongoing deal on a product and I ensure I do enough research before buying any product. So a good way to start saving a few extra cents on every purchase would be to simply find coupons.

Coupons are everywhere, the internet, in your post, in store, etc. It just takes a little bit of effort and initiative to hunt for the right coupon. You will be surprised that a little bit of effort can bag you more items for less.

A good example is today, I was buying gifts for my folks back home and I selected all the products I wanted. Rather than doing the conventional checkout, I simply typed on google “coupons for xyz brand” and I found a whole bunch of coupons which saved my shipping cost and also gave me a discount of 10% because my order was above a certain bracket. This helped me save around 20$ on my overall purchase.

Groceries are a part of every individual routine, some might do it monthly, some might do it weekly or some might do it daily. You can simply run through your post mail real quick, in which local grocers usually send out deals and discounts. You can always get yourself the membership card of the grocer (any other store) and begin your savings right there. Recently, I was purchasing groceries from a local grocer and I shopped more than 50$ and availed of a coupon to a nearby gas station which got me 20cents/galloon off.

Gas is something I have to fill very often because of my daily driving requirements. Two gas stations where I know you could save up some dollars are shell and speedway.  Shell will offer you a discount of 10 cents/gallon if you ring in your Kroger plus card (please check for participating gas stations). Also, the discount applies if you get a car wash done from a shell gas station.

For speedway you simply need to hop in to the convenience store (or apply for one online) and get hold of a speedy rewards card. One every refuel you earn points which you can redeem online for a variety of products.

I have attached the links below for convenience.

Student discount: If you are a full time student registered with a university, you are very lucky! The university usually has a tie up with various companies to deliver products to students at a subsidized price. Check with your university for more details.
In my amazon student account blog post you can find how you can avail free shipping and savings on prime eligible amazon products for students.

July - August is a great time to eye various brands and look out for "Back to School offers".
A good way to shop for the products you need and at the same time save a good amount of money.

I will add a few more “value for money” ideas soon on to this page.
